About the Role

SPOG Trailers is seeking a hands-on Field Manufacturing Manager to oversee the complete manufacturing process of their solar-powered cargo trailers, from initial assembly through final testing and delivery. This role requires managing employees, organizing production, solving problems on the floor, maintaining quality, and ensuring timely delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily manufacturing and assembly of SPOG solar-powered cargo trailers.
  • Manage and coordinate production employees, technicians, fabricators, electricians, and installers.
  • Create and maintain daily and weekly production schedules.
  • Assign work and ensure employees understand production requirements.
  • Track each trailer through the complete manufacturing process.
  • Coordinate installation of solar panels, battery systems, inverters, electrical panels, wiring, outlets, lighting, HVAC, insulation, interior walls, E-track, cabinetry, and other components.
  • Ensure materials and components are available before each stage of production.
  • Work with purchasing and management to identify and resolve material shortages.
  • Maintain quality-control standards throughout production.
  • Inspect workmanship and completed trailers before final delivery.
  • Ensure electrical, mechanical, structural, and solar installations follow approved designs and specifications.
  • Troubleshoot production problems and develop practical solutions.
  • Improve manufacturing processes to reduce production time and unnecessary material or labor costs.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe manufacturing facility.
  • Enforce company safety procedures and proper use of tools and equipment.
  • Train new manufacturing employees and develop standardized assembly procedures.
  • Track employee productivity and overall manufacturing performance.
  • Coordinate custom trailer builds and ensure customer specifications are followed.
  • Report production progress, delays, material issues, and quality concerns directly to company leadership.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, fabrication, trailer manufacturing, automotive manufacturing, construction management, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous experience supervising manufacturing or production employees.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing workflow and production scheduling.
  • Experience with electrical systems, solar, battery storage, HVAC, fabrication, automotive, RV, or trailer manufacturing is highly desirable.
  • Ability to read drawings, specifications, wiring diagrams, and manufacturing documents.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple trailers and production stages simultaneously.
  • Strong leadership and employee-management skills.
  • Comfortable working directly on the manufacturing floor.
  • Ability to maintain production deadlines without sacrificing quality or safety.
