About the Role
As an Armed Security Officer at a government headquarters location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, respond to security-related concerns, and provide professional customer service. This armed post offers the opportunity to support critical public operations while communicating clearly and working as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and government personnel by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned facilities, transit-related areas, access points, and surrounding perimeters to help identify and report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
- Monitor access control points, verify credentials as assigned, and report access concerns in accordance with site procedures.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, coordinating with supervisors and public emergency services when appropriate.
- Prepare clear and accurate reports of patrols, incidents, observations, and security-related activities in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.
Requirements
- Possess at least 2 years of security-related experience.
- Possess a concealed carry weapons permit.
- Be a graduate of a law enforcement or military police training program or equivalent.
- Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
- Possess an Armed Guard Card or license.
- Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
- Possess a New Jersey RPO Certificate.
- Possess 5 years of industrial security-related experience or 2 years of military, law enforcement, EMT, or fire department service.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
