About the Role
Helio Health is seeking a Property Maintenance / Facilities Worker on a Per-Diem basis to provide property and facilities maintenance throughout their network of healthcare facilities in Syracuse, NY, supporting the mission to treat and promote recovery from substance use, mental health disorders, and other behavioral healthcare issues.
Responsibilities
- Perform snow removal, grass removal, and trash removal.
- Maintain Helio buildings and grounds.
- Perform necessary maintenance and general repairs to ensure a safe and functional environment.
- Respond to emergency situations as directed by the Supervisor or Director of Facilities.
- Communicate life/safety issues and potential dangers to clients/staff or agency liability to the Supervisor of Facilities Maintenance.
- Execute basic plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs.
- Follow directions from the Supervisor of Facilities and/or Director of Facilities and provide progress updates.
- Undertake other duties as assigned by the Supervisor of Facilities Maintenance or Director of Facilities.
Requirements
- High School or G.E.D. required.
- Must possess a valid NYS Driver’s License and be able to operate an agency vehicle.
- Ability to perform physical labor.
- Ability to use a computer.
- Proficiency in using common power and hand tools.
- Willingness to work in inclement weather conditions and environments with strong odors, dust, and hazards.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
- Knowledge of OSHA & SDS requirements.
