About the Role
The Henry N.R. Jackman Faculty of Law at the University of Toronto is seeking a full-time tenure stream Assistant Professor in Business Law, with a focus on areas including Corporate Law, Corporate Governance, and Securities Law. The role involves innovative research and teaching, contributing to a diverse academic environment.
Responsibilities
- Pursue innovative and independent research.
- Establish an outstanding, competitive, and externally funded research program.
- Be assigned a teaching and service load.
Requirements
- Hold a JD or equivalent degree.
- Doctoral degree preferred, earned by appointment or shortly thereafter.
- Demonstrated record of excellence in research and teaching.
- Research and teaching expertise in Business Law (including Corporate Law, Corporate Governance, and Securities Law).
- Research should be interdisciplinary, drawing on economics, finance, accounting, management, political science, philosophy, or data science.
- Produce scholarship not confined primarily to the law of a single jurisdiction.
- Provide evidence of research excellence through publications, research statement, conference presentations, awards, and strong referee endorsements.
- Provide evidence of teaching excellence through teaching accomplishments, teaching dossier, and strong reference letters.
