About the Role
Sizewell C is designing, financing, constructing, operating, and decommissioning a nuclear power plant and related infrastructure. The company is focused on delivering the project on time, on budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards. Sizewell C is economically regulated by OFGEM under the Regulated Asset Base (RAB) model and aims to replicate the design of Hinkley Point C while innovating for cost and time savings.
Responsibilities
- Provide commercial management of major contracts within large scale engineering and infrastructure projects.
- Administer FIDIC Contracts, ensuring compliance with contract conditions and effective delivery.
- Prepare and maintain key contract documentation, including early warning notices, variations and claim responses.
- Understand and administer price fluctuation clauses.
- Draft position papers, prepare commercial reports and author change events to support project decisions.
- Apply understanding of construction technology, cost drivers and supply chain management to optimise outcomes.
- Support direct reports and early-career team members, to build capability across the commercial function.
- Engage confidently with stakeholders, providing clear advice and updates.
- Engage with team members and contractors in a confident, professional, and collaborative manner, fostering constructive relationships while assertively ensuring that the client’s contractual rights and obligations are always protected.
- Take ownership of challenges and deliver solutions from start to finish with limited need for direction.
- Contribute to strategic commercial planning and decision-making to support project success.
- Support and contribute to ongoing continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Proven experience in major projects and ideally FIDIC or NEC3/4 contracts.
- Strong commercial, negotiation, influencing, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A mindset for team-working, innovation and collaboration.
- Knowledge of UK contract law and procurement best practices.
- Degree or equivalent experience.
- Must meet criteria for Security Vetting, which ordinarily requires UK residency for at least three of the past five years.
- Must have the right to work in the UK.

- Professional membership (RICS, CICES, IOB, CIPS) desirable
Salary/Compensations
- Circa £66,866 per annum (depending on experience)
- 5% annual incentive bonus

About the Company
- Sizewell C's business is to design, finance, construct, commission, operate, maintain, and eventually decommission the nuclear power plant and related infrastructure at Sizewell C in Suffolk.
- Sizewell C is economically regulated by OFGEM under the Regulated Asset Base (RAB) model similar to other UK electricity distribution networks and Thames Tideway.
- Sizewell C construction strategy is to replicate the design of Hinkley Point C, using the majority of the same supply chain, but innovating in the way it is delivered to achieve savings in time and cost of around 20%.
- Following Financial Completion and Revenue Commencement, Sizewell C is fully funded and is owned by; The Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero representing HM Government, La Caisse, Centrica, EDF and Amber Infrastructure.
- Sizewell C is entering an exciting phase of growth as we mature into an independent organisation and continue building one of the UK’s largest and most important energy projects.
- We have partnered with EDF for the provision of a number of support services whilst we complete a successful transition out of the EDF group.
