About the Role
The Middle Office Operations Associate will support day-to-day operational activities, ensuring accurate and timely processing of trades, managing cash and position reconciliations, and providing critical support to portfolio managers and internal stakeholders. This role requires a strong understanding of financial instruments and operational workflows.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily trade affirmation and confirmation processes across various asset classes (equities, fixed income, derivatives, etc.).
- Execute and reconcile cash and position breaks with custodians, prime brokers, and counterparties.
- Monitor and process corporate actions, ensuring accurate reflection in portfolio management systems.
- Investigate and resolve trade discrepancies, failed trades, and settlement issues in a timely manner.
- Generate and distribute various operational reports, including performance, risk, and compliance data.
- Contribute to the enhancement of existing processes and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Maintain a strong understanding of industry regulations and best practices relevant to middle office operations.
- Respond to internal and external inquiries related to trade processing, settlements, and portfolio data.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 0-2 years of experience in middle office operations within the financial services industry.
- Strong understanding of various financial instruments and their life cycles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables).
