About the Role
The Student Connection & Community Care Project Assistant provides comprehensive administrative support to the unit, including incident management, case records, background checks, and liaison with campus partners. The role also involves analyzing data, producing reports, and supporting the Advocate case management system. Additionally, the Assistant supports institutional committees and policies, leads unit outreach and communications, and represents the office at events.
Responsibilities
- Provides comprehensive administrative support to the unit, including the Care Coordinator team and the Office of Student Community Standards.
- Manages incident management, case records, and background checks.
- Liaises with campus partners.
- Analyzes data and produces reports on trends and service utilization.
- Supports the use of the Advocate case management system.
- Supports institutional committees and policies, including the Committee for Preventing and Responding to Sexual Violence and the Student Death Response Policy.
- Assists with policy and procedure revisions.
- Leads unit outreach, communications, and promotional efforts.
- Represents the office at Humber/UofGH events.
- Provides administrative and event support for Student Wellness & Equitable Learning.
- Contributes to advancing the goals of Student Success & Engagement.
- Ensures a safe, supportive, and engaging student experience.
Requirements
- A two-year (2) diploma in a discipline related and transferable to the role (e.g., Paralegal Education, Law Clerk, Justice Studies, Education, Social Work, Human Resources), or equivalent combination of relevant experience and education.
- Minimum 2-3 years of professional experience working in a post-secondary environment.
- Ability to engage and build rapport with various stakeholders and members of the Humber community.
- Good knowledge of principles and practices of administration in a post-secondary educational environment.
- Knowledge of relevant privacy legislation (e.g., FIPPA, PHIPA).
- Proficient in the use of word processing, spreadsheet applications, email, website management, and Advocate case management software.
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
- Ability to gather, analyze, and communicate data (e.g., report writing).
- Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a team setting and independently.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Experience working in a dynamic office environment with hybrid service delivery.
- Experience with coordination of outreach, promotion, workshops, and events.
- Adhere to all Collective Agreements, Terms and Conditions of Employment for Administrative Staff, internal policies/practices, and government regulations and Humber wide requirements.
