About the Role
The Property Binders Team is seeking a dynamic individual to support the delivery of the business plan through effective underwriting and delegated authority management, focusing on international territories. The role involves managing Coverholders and Binders to ensure performance meets financial and operational metrics, while aligning with audit, conduct risk, and compliance requirements. Your work will contribute to good customer outcomes and AXIS’s reputation for excellence and integrity.
Responsibilities
- Underwrite new and renewal binder business within agreed authority and support referral underwriting.
- Take ownership of Coverholder relationships and Binding Authority Agreements, ensuring performance aligns with business objectives.
- Liaise with Brokers and Coverholders to identify and develop new business opportunities.
- Conduct regular Coverholder reviews and maintain strong working relationships.
- Collaborate with Conduct Risk and Compliance teams to ensure delegated authority standards are met.
- Communicate underwriting, audit, and conduct risk issues to the Unit Head or Deputy.
- Monitor and report emerging risks or control failures using formal channels.
- Ensure accurate data entry and maintenance of underwriting systems and binder records.
- Coordinate delegated authority processes and support internal/external audits.
- Contribute to a culture that prioritizes fair treatment of customers and continuous improvement.
- Attend broker meetings and events as required.
- Travel internationally.
Requirements
- Full understanding of delegated underwriting policy and procedures.
- Familiarity with FCA, PRA, and Lloyd’s compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel) and underwriting systems (Examples being PowerBI, Riskwrite, IRIS, Swordfish, Desktop etc).
- Ability to analyse data and present insights clearly and appropriately.
