About the Role

DIS is seeking an Endpoint Engineering System Administrator to manage and support enterprise Windows endpoints, device management systems, and endpoint security tools. This role involves maintaining OS configurations, deploying updates, enforcing compliance, and ensuring device performance through strong troubleshooting and log analysis skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and support enterprise Windows endpoints, device management systems, and endpoint security tools.
  • Maintain OS configurations, deploy updates and software, and enforce compliance.
  • Ensure device performance and resolve user-reported issues.
  • Engineer solutions for large-scale software deployment using technologies like Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM).
  • Provide SCCM administration and patch management support for enterprise servers and client workstations.
  • Troubleshoot SCCM issues related to server/workstation patches and configurations.
  • Implement, update, and maintain enterprise-level configuration management automated software and security configuration applications.
  • Adjust the administrative environment to enhance deployment effectiveness and patching levels.
  • Provide Tier 3 support for enterprise products and services, including hardware and software.
  • Validate deployment plans for compliance with enterprise server and workstation software and security updates.
  • Troubleshoot configuration management problems and document known issues or inefficiencies.
  • Remotely access government-managed systems to diagnose and resolve SCCM-related endpoint issues.
  • Manage and prioritize trouble-ticket queues, perform trend and root-cause analysis, and document actions.
  • Monitor assets using SCCM, SCOM, and related tools to ensure service availability.
  • Restore systems to normal operation after maintenance windows.
  • Prepare and distribute Situational Reports and Executive Summaries for critical service outages.
  • Communicate clearly with customers, stakeholders, and technical teams.
  • Lead technical discussions and present briefing materials.
  • Provide status reports before and after remediation actions.
  • Understand application deployments and configuration within Microsoft Intune.
  • Participate in co-management or hybrid scenarios.

Requirements

  • 4-7 years of experience engineering robust solutions for large-scale deployment of software using OS deployment technologies such as Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM).
  • 4-7 years of experience providing SCCM administration and patch management support services for enterprise servers and client workstations.
  • 4-7 years of experience implementing, updating, and maintaining enterprise level configuration management automated software and security configuration applications.
  • 4-7 years of experience analyzing the current enterprise configuration management implementation and adjusting the administrative environment.
  • 4-7 years of experience providing Tier 3 support services.
  • Ability to learn new tasks.
  • Ability to maintain focus and complete tasks independently.
  • Ability to remember processes.
  • Ability to complete tasks in situations that have a speed or productivity quota.
