About the Role

Coordinates the activities of the outpatient phlebotomy team to provide quality and continuity of blood specimen collection, internal paperflow, and distribution of patient laboratory reports. Works with other Outpatient Departments to better serve patients and oversees informational flow between the Outpatient Lab and external physician offices and clinics.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Training in an accredited school for certified medical office assistants or equivalent
  • Minimum of two years experience in phlebotomy technique
  • High School diploma plus on the job training in clerical and phlebotomy procedures
  • Three years experience in phlebotomy techniques

Skills

  • Effective verbal communication skills
  • Operation of multilane telephone
  • Operation of computer
