About the Role

This role involves significant time dedicated to media rights sales mandates, serving as a key client contact. The remaining time will be spent on other Media, Sports & Entertainment matters, supporting senior lawyers. You will collaborate internationally and work with experts in IP, data protection, commercial, regulatory, and disputes, gaining expertise in fast-moving sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary day-to-day junior associate on media rights matters for a leading sporting competition, managing workstreams and understanding client needs.
  • Participate in advice related to package formulation, tendering, auction processes, contracting, financial security, and operational arrangements.
  • Work on a broad range of media rights, commercial, IP, and sports-related matters for clients in the media and sport sectors.
  • Develop existing and new client relationships, with opportunities to build your own profile and network.
  • Adopt and encourage sophisticated AI usage in work throughout project lifecycles.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of PQE.
  • An outstanding, intellectually rigorous lawyer with a genuine interest in and commitment to the media and sport sectors.
  • Committed to delivering high-quality work, excellent client service, and building a successful career in private practice.
  • Numerate with strong drafting skills, commercial awareness, and sound judgement.
  • Ability to translate complex legal analysis into practical, client-focused advice.
  • Clear and concise communicator, capable of building strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Enthusiastic about using AI tools to enhance work quality, efficiency, and effectiveness.
  • A Level Mathematics (or equivalent qualification demonstrating strong numerical and analytical aptitude) is desirable.
  • Experience with media rights and/or intellectual property matters is desirable.
