About the Role

At The Dunfield Retirement Residence, a luxurious community in the Heart of Toronto, we are committed to our residents’ care, happiness, and well-being. As a Server, you will be the face of our dining service, providing the highest level of service to our residents and their guests, ensuring each meal is a delightful experience. You’ll play an integral role in enriching the lives of our residents, working in a dynamic, high-end setting. Responsibilities

  • Setting and cleaning tables, serving counters and the dining area according to type of event and service standards.
  • Taking orders, including any modifications, answer enquiries and communicate orders to kitchen.
  • Serving food and beverage to our residents and guests.
  • Knowing all the residents’ dietary requirements and preferences.
  • Ability to understand and follow-out orders to serve the food correctly and according to specified modification.
  • Providing high level dining services to our residents according to the company’s standard.
  • Cleaning table bases, chairs, and vacuuming the dining room floor.
  • Practicing and maintaining established standards for cleanliness and sanitation required by the Health Department.
  • Promoting and maintaining positive communication and relationships among staff, residents, and their guests.
  • Checking in with guests to ensure satisfaction with each food course and/or beverages.
  • Picking-up trays and cleaning tables as needed to ensure a clean dining area.
  • Establishing and maintaining an atmosphere conducive to pleasant dining by creating an environment which maintains the enjoyment, self respect, dignity and physical safety of each resident.

Requirements

  • 2 years of fine dining floor experience.
  • Smart serve certification.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Must be available to work weekends and flexible shifts, including evenings.
  • Previous working experience with seniors is an asset.
  • Must be able to speak English fluently and be able to read and write in basic English.
  • Ability to perform the following: carrying or lifting items up to 50 pounds, moving about the restaurant, handling food objects, plates, trays, glasses etc, considerable bending, stooping and kneeling is required.
