About the Role
Waymo is seeking a professional to design and implement training programs for technicians and workshop management. This role focuses on ensuring competency in servicing Waymo's proprietary systems, driving cross-functional collaboration, and maintaining quality standards for both internal teams and external training partners.
Responsibilities
- Design a multi modality technician and workshop management curriculum
- Assist in asset creation with Waymo’s training team
- Implement "train the trainer" programs and hands on skills assessments
- Leverage classroom and workshop settings to impart competency servicing Waymo’s proprietary systems
- Drive strong cross functional collaboration with business stakeholders and vendor partners
- Perform site audits with the Service Quality team to ensure training proficiency retention
- Identify opportunities for operational improvement
- Define, operationalize, and maintain quality standards
- Drive accountability and monitor the quality of external training partners
- Ensure external training partners achieve desired learning proficiencies and operational readiness adhering to safety best practices
Requirements
- 7+ years professional automotive service instructional or educational experience
- Built, managed and/or maintained standard operating procedures
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills critical for explaining complex topics
- Ability to present information confidently and effectively to groups
- A commitment to uphold the highest standards for safety and quality
- Proven experience managing vendor relationships and external training teams to deliver scalable programs
- Leveraged a Learning Management System to organize, deploy, and track training
Skills
- Data analytics and reporting in Excel, GSheets, or SQL
- Built or deployed training assets or special tools to improvement repair methods or training competency
- Proficient with automotive OEM diagnostic software and repair methods
- High voltage diagnostic/repair
- CAN network diagnostics/repair
- 12v harness diagnostics/repair
- Performing software updates to vehicle modules
- Identify, propose, and implement process improvements for training workflows and processes
