About the Role
Provide engineering support for technical issues reported by the North American fleet of Customers, Technical Representatives, P145 Repair Stations, and the Fleet Control Center in a high-paced and high-pressure environment. Identify and resolve discrepancies in the Instructions for Continued Airworthiness and act as a liaison with company engineering functions. Work within an international team to analyze and propose solutions to increase the reliability and maintainability of the in-service fleet of AW aircraft.
Responsibilities
- Perform front-end analysis and resolution of technical issues reported by the North American fleet of Customers, Technical Representatives, and P145 Repair Stations in a timely manner.
- Support the Fleet Control Center with resolving AOG issues and providing technical solutions during a non-standard work week and weekends.
- Input and analyze field data for reliability and maintainability to liaise with and drive product improvements through the AW Design Offices.
- Maintain a constant link with Product Support Engineering Italy to increase awareness of fleet problems and establish a fleet-wide knowledge base of occurrences and their resulting technical solutions.
- Validate Technical Instructions (Publications, Technical Bulletins) to improve the quality of the Instructions for Continued Airworthiness.
- Regularly report to AW Product Support Engineering Management for safety-related issues and outstanding Customer technical issues.
- Analyze aircraft configurations to highlight criticalities in spare parts provisioning, training activity, and Technical Publication updating.
- Develop maintenance, repair, and assembly procedures for Operator issues that fall outside the coverage of standard Technical Publications.
- Use field experience/data to influence the established Product Improvement Process for supportability, maintainability, and design improvement.
- Present major issues and solutions to the management team in various high-level meetings.
- Support accident investigation activity.
- Develop technical presentations in support of Customer round tables and trade shows.
Requirements
- Prior aerospace experience in technical areas of the rotary wing sector required.
- Mastery of aviation technology.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Strong PC skills.
- Intercultural awareness, ability to create and maintain relationships.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule and weekends.
- Able to work under pressure and meet customer deadlines.
- Well-organized and adaptable with a flexible approach.
- Able to handle critical and emergency situations involving customers.
Skills
- Fluent in Spanish
- Knowledge of Italian is a strong plus
Education Level
- BS in Engineering Required
