About the Role
Dreamwear is seeking a Senior Associate Designer to join their Laura Ashley team. This role involves researching trends, developing designs, managing sample development, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure product quality and timely delivery. The ideal candidate is passionate about fashion, has a keen eye for trends, and excels at multitasking.
Responsibilities
- Research market trends, color forecasting, and print concepts.
- Develop design ideas and concepts for senior team review.
- Attend design, proto, and line review meetings.
- Provide comments during fittings.
- Prepare presentations for internal and external meetings.
- Build relationships with cross-functional teams through communication and problem-solving.
- Assist with CADing, color selection, and print choices for presentations.
- Help with color palettes and flat sketching.
- Approve print and graphic strike-offs.
- Oversee the creation of technical development packages, including construction, sketches, fabrications, trims, print, and color details.
- Ensure accurate production packages with color and trim specifications, and prepare production-ready artwork.
- Communicate with overseas factories regarding development, production, and costings.
- Delegate and organize tasks for junior team members.
- Potentially manage a direct report, including performance evaluation and growth oversight.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in fashion or intimate apparel.
- Proficiency in Illustrator, Photoshop, & Microsoft Excel.
- Positive attitude and team player.
- Excellent communication and follow-up skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Passion for fashion and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness and availability to travel overseas when necessary.
- Must include examples of work with resume.
