About the Role
The Box Truck Driver is responsible for operating a commercial motor vehicle to transport freight safely, efficiently, and compliantly. This role ensures timely deliveries while adhering to all regulations and company policies.
Responsibilities
- Operate a commercial motor vehicle in compliance with FMCSA and DOT regulations.
- Transport freight between company facilities, customer locations, and designated destinations.
- Perform required pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections of vehicle and equipment.
- Maintain accurate and timely driver logs, inspection reports, and trip records.
- Secure cargo according to safety standards to prevent shifting, damage, or loss during transit.
- Input fuel receipt into ELD before leaving the pump.
- Communicate with dispatch regarding schedules, delays, incidents, and route changes.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and maintain a clean driving record.
- Report equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or incidents promptly to management.
- Assist with loading and unloading freight as needed.
- Represent the company in a professional manner when interacting with customers, vendors, and the public.
- Follow company safety policies, including the use of required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Requirements
- Valid Driver's License.
- Clean MVR.
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, hours-of-service rules, and proper cargo securement.
- Must pass a DOT physical examination and drug test.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to sit and drive for extended periods.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent bending, climbing, reaching, and securing of cargo.
