About the Role
The New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) is implementing a new program to address damage from Hurricane Ida. This role will lead the development of design criteria and oversee design implementation for this program, focusing on flood mitigation strategies, electrification, and renovations.
Responsibilities
- Performs various management, leadership, and people accountability responsibilities for a specific technical group or department.
- Has full responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating technical assignments.
- Plans and develops engineering tasks concerned with unique or controversial problems.
- Maintains liaison with units within the organization and individuals inside and outside of the organization.
- Responsible for acting independently on technical matters pertaining to the field.
- Manages group of architects and/or designers, coordinating activities of the unit.
Requirements
- BA/BS + 8 years or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Worked with large NYC agencies and/or developers.
- Licensed Architect in NY.
- Worked as a lead architect on similar large complex projects in NYC.
- Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.
- Relocation is not available for this position.
- All newly hired employees are required to attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location as a condition of employment.
