About the Role
Kobalt Music is seeking an administrative and operational professional to manage the global song registration process for Australian and New Zealand repertoire, ensuring accurate royalty collection for clients. This role is crucial for maintaining the flow of royalties as songs are played live, on radio, or streamed online.
Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with Performing Rights Organisations (PROs) and Collective Management Organisations (CMOs) in the Asia-Pacific region, specifically with APRA AMCOS.
- Collaborate with Copyright teams in Hong Kong, London, and the US, maintaining best practices for song and agreement registrations and conflict resolution.
- Engage with societies, publishers, and other organizations in the Asia-Pacific region to communicate claims on Kobalt’s repertoire.
- Work closely with Kobalt’s global Writer & Publisher Relations department to ensure successful administration of client accounts, including registration submissions, dispute management, and catalogue maintenance.
- Proactively identify and resolve registration issues or delays impacting clients, ensuring compliance with society distribution rules and processes.
- Undertake side projects on specialist topics, including compiling and distributing song charts to internal stakeholders.
Requirements
- Demonstrate a genuine interest in music publishing, especially Copyright.
- Possess relevant administrative experience, potentially in database management or using Excel for data manipulation and analysis.
- Excellent communication skills with a high level of written and spoken English.
- Detail-driven self-starter with strong organization and prioritization skills.
