About the Role
Lead and contribute to water, wastewater, and water resources projects in Buffalo and throughout the Northeast. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-impact projects across the Northeast while enjoying the flexibility and support of a company that values your well-being.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review design calculations, engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Develop technical reports and memoranda that inform and guide project decisions.
- Conduct field investigations and site reconnaissance to support design and planning.
- Assist with project management tasks including scope, schedule, budget tracking, and QA/QC compliance.
- Mentor junior engineers and foster a collaborative, inclusive team environment.
- Support proposal development, cost estimating, and project scheduling.
- Prepare project work plans and health and safety documentation.
- Represent AECOM in client meetings and technical presentations.
- Build strong client relationships through direct, face-to-face engagement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering with a focus on water, wastewater, or water resources plus six years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- 8+ years of experience in water/wastewater projects.
- Master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in New York or ability to obtain within 6 months.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong technical foundation in civil, water, wastewater, or water resources engineering.
- Strong organizational skills and a proactive, client-focused mindset.
- Proven ability to produce engineering deliverables including reports, drawings, and specifications.
- Demonstrated ability to make independent engineering decisions and lead project components.
- Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

- All newly hired employees are required to attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location as a condition of employment.
