About the Role

As a DevOps Engineer at Closinglock, you'll be a core member of our engineering team, working alongside our Senior DevOps Engineer to build and improve the infrastructure powering a security-critical fintech platform. You'll collaborate closely across the team to design, build, and maintain the systems that keep Closinglock reliable, secure, and fast, with a real impact on our cloud architecture, deployment pipelines, and observability stack.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the design, build, and maintenance of scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS, supporting high availability and performance.
  • Help evolve CI/CD pipelines to enable fast, safe, and frequent deployments.
  • Implement and maintain infrastructure-as-code using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Monitor system health, performance, and security using observability tools and respond to incidents.
  • Work with containerized and orchestrated workloads using Docker and Kubernetes (EKS).
  • Collaborate with software engineers to improve developer experience.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation and contribute to incident postmortems.
  • Contribute to internal documentation and runbooks.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of professional experience in a DevOps, platform engineering, or site reliability engineering role.
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS (EC2, ECS/EKS, RDS, S3, IAM, VPC, Lambda, CloudWatch).
  • Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools.
  • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, CircleCI, or similar).
  • Solid understanding of containerization and orchestration.
  • Working knowledge of Linux system administration and shell scripting (Bash).
  • Experience with monitoring, alerting, and observability tooling (Datadog, Prometheus/Grafana, or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with security best practices: secrets management (Vault, AWS Secrets Manager), network segmentation, IAM policies, and encryption at rest/in transit.
  • Experience in a fintech, payments, or regulated industry environment (SOC 2, PCI-DSS, or similar compliance frameworks).
  • Proficiency with a scripting or programming language such as Python, Go, or Node.js.
  • Experience with database performance tuning and managing managed database services (Aurora, RDS).
  • Familiarity with zero-trust networking principles and SIEM tooling.
  • AWS certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer Professional).
