About the Role
The General Laborer will perform construction work and support as needed, including loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials. This role involves assisting with various construction project duties, transferring between tasks as directed, and potentially performing tasks such as measuring distances, digging, and cable pulling. The employee will utilize dexterous hand and tool skills for a variety of tasks.
Responsibilities
- Assist crew leader in construction work
- Complete duties as assigned
- Operate machinery, vehicles, and other necessary tools
- Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials
- Open trenches and restore them using hand tools and/or power equipment
- Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards
Requirements
- Must have a basic command of the English language to understand the safety requirements of the position
- Ability to listen to and implement directions
- Ability to pass motor vehicle, drug screen and background check
