About the Role
AECOM is seeking motivated Construction Project Managers to manage the delivery of Transportation Infrastructure projects in the New York Metro area for various government agencies and authorities. The role involves overall project management or managing key components of large-scale projects.
Responsibilities
- Provide oversight of field construction inspectors, including daily schedules, site safety, technical oversight, quality of construction, and client satisfaction.
- Accountable for planning, coordination, inspection, and construction management activities of direct reporting staff for efficient utilization.
- Balance project office work with the senior management team and supervise field inspection teams working nights and weekends.
- Interface with contractors to coordinate construction activities and meet project schedules.
- Evaluate, resolve, and provide solutions for constructability issues encountered at construction sites.
- Evaluate and validate contractor change order requests against contract documents, negotiate costs and schedule impacts, and make recommendations.
- Perform inspection and resident engineering activities on highway bridge projects, adhering to construction site safety standards and operations requirements.
- Develop and maintain project schedules to ensure timely completion of milestones and overall project delivery.
- Manage project budgets, including cost estimation, tracking, and reporting to senior management and clients.
- Coordinate with various stakeholders, including government agencies, utility companies, and local communities.
- Implement and oversee quality control processes to maintain high standards of construction and compliance.
- Conduct regular project status meetings and prepare comprehensive reports.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks to project success, developing contingency plans.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Participate in business development activities, including proposal preparation and client presentations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree plus 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- US Citizenship is required.
- Transit and Transportation Experience.
- 6 plus years of experience in resident engineering, construction management, project management, engineering and related fields is preferred.
- Experience with NYSDOT, or NYCDOT projects.
- Software proficiency in Procore, SharePoint, MS Project.
- A P.E. License in New York is preferred.
- Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future.
- Relocation is not available for this position.
- All newly hired employees are required to attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location as a condition of employment.
