About the Role
Catholic Charities of Long Island is seeking a talented and experienced RN Manager with a generous heart to manage a cluster of group homes for Developmentally Disabled clients. This role involves supervising RNs, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing direct care when needed, all while upholding the organization's mission of compassionate care.
Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day guidance, oversight, supervision, and evaluation of Residence RNs to guarantee regulatory compliance and quality medical care.
- Communicate with residents, families, Coordinators, Managers, DSPs, MCCs, and Behavior Intervention Specialists regarding care issues, offering professional advice and instruction.
- Address all medical and medication-related issues of individuals living in the assigned cluster of homes.
- Complete quality review audits of nursing functions within assigned residences.
- Deliver workshops and training on health-related issues for staff, clients, and families, including AMAP Recertification and the 32-hour AMAP course.
- Participate as an active member of the Treatment Team, advising on treatment issues, significant changes, and maintaining accurate documentation.
- Assist the Healthcare Administrator with clinical and administrative responsibilities as needed.
- Deliver hands-on nursing care and residence supervision in the absence of a Residence RN.
- Cross-train with a second Nurse Manager to supervise other residence clusters in their absence.
- Provide on-call coverage for the assigned residential cluster.
- Provide on-call coverage in the absence of the RN Supervisor or Nurse Manager.
Requirements
- A desire to provide and facilitate compassionate, person-centered care.
- Associate’s Degree in Nursing; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- 2-3 years’ experience providing care for the Developmentally Disabled population.
- 2-3 years’ supervisory experience.
- Current, valid NYS Registered Nurse License.
- Valid NYS Driver’s License.
