About the Role
Sizewell C is designing, financing, constructing, operating, and decommissioning a nuclear power plant and related infrastructure. The company's primary focus is on delivering the Sizewell C project on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards. Sizewell C is economically regulated by OFGEM under the Regulated Asset Base (RAB) model. The construction strategy replicates the Hinkley Point C design, aiming for significant savings through innovation.
Responsibilities
- Lead the commercial management of major contracts within large-scale engineering and infrastructure projects.
- Manage and administer FIDIC Contracts, ensuring compliance with contract conditions and effective delivery.
- Prepare and maintain key contract documentation, including early warning notices, variations, and claim responses.
- Understand and administer price fluctuation clauses.
- Draft position papers, prepare commercial reports, and author change events to support project decisions.
- Apply understanding of construction technology, cost drivers, and supply chain management to optimize outcomes.
- Manage, mentor, and develop direct reports and early-career team members, building capability across the commercial function.
- Engage confidently with senior stakeholders and clients, providing clear advice and updates.
- Engage with team members and contractors in a confident, professional, and collaborative manner, fostering constructive relationships while assertively ensuring that the client’s contractual rights and obligations are always protected.
- Take ownership of challenges and deliver solutions from start to finish without the need for direction.
- Contribute to strategic commercial planning and decision-making to support project success.
- Manage and contribute to ongoing continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Proven experience in major projects and FIDIC (highly desirable) or NEC3/4 contracts.
- Strong commercial, negotiation, influencing, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Team-oriented mindset, fosters innovation and collaboration.
- Ability to absorb complex information, assess requirements, and make recommendations.
- Experience of CEMAR Contract Management platform desired but not essential.
- Knowledge of UK contract law and procurement best practices.
- Degree or equivalent experience.
- Professional membership (RICS, CICES, IOB, CIPS) desirable.
- Must meet criteria for Security Vetting, ordinarily requiring UK residency for at least three of the past five years.
- Must have the right to work in the UK.

- 5% annual incentive bonus

About the Company
- Sizewell C’s business is to design, finance, construct, commission, operate, maintain, and eventually decommission the nuclear power plant and related infrastructure at Sizewell C in Suffolk.
- Sizewell C is economically regulated by OFGEM under the Regulated Asset Base (RAB) model similar to other UK electricity distribution networks and Thames Tideway.
- Sizewell C construction strategy is to replicate the design of Hinkley Point C, using the majority of the same supply chain, but innovating in the way it is delivered to achieve savings in time and cost of around 20%.
- Following Financial Completion and Revenue Commencement, Sizewell C is fully funded and is owned by; The Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero representing HM Government, La Caisse, Centrica, EDF and Amber Infrastructure.
- We’re looking for a seasoned commercial professional with extensive experience delivering major programmes, ideally within large-scale engineering and infrastructure projects valued between £10m and £100m+.
- Experience in industries such as Energy (Nuclear, Wind, Solar, Oil and Gas), Datacentres and the like will be highly regarded.
