About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on AppOps Specialist to build modular, reusable solutions that streamline workflows and enable automation at scale. You will focus on developing tools and libraries that embed AppOps functionality directly into application code and pipelines, supporting operational efficiency and system performance in live environments.

Responsibilities

  • Developing codified, modular, and reusable frameworks to enhance AppOps workflows and automation efforts
  • Contributing to building tools, scripts, and modules that embed AppOps functionality (e.g., logging, monitoring, and alerting) into application code and CI/CD pipelines
  • Creating and maintaining version-controlled libraries, templates, and automation modules that can be easily integrated into multiple products and workflows
  • Developing tools and workflows to automate deployment, testing, monitoring, and recovery processes, reducing manual intervention and improving system performance
  • Building modules that integrate observability practices (metrics, logging, and tracing) into applications, enabling proactive monitoring and faster issue resolution
  • Embedding AppOps principles into CI/CD workflows, ensuring reliability, performance, and operational readiness checks are automated
  • Collaborating with engineering, operations, and security teams to align on architecture, tooling, and delivery strategies for seamless integration of AppOps capabilities
  • Using developed tools and frameworks to enhance post-deployment operational efficiency, including proactive issue resolution and performance optimization
  • Fostering knowledge sharing by writing and contributing to documentation

Requirements

  • 3-5+ years of experience in AppOps, DevOps, or SRE roles, focusing on hands-on development and operational support
  • Experience working with AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, DynamoDB, CloudFormation, CloudWatch) to build and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure systems
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools with a focus on creating modular, reusable patterns
  • Advanced programming and scripting skills in Python, Go, or similar languages, with experience building automation frameworks and tools
  • Experience integrating CI/CD pipelines using tools
  • Proven ability to design and implement monitoring, logging, and observability frameworks
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on eliminating manual processes and improving operational efficiency
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset to work across teams and share knowledge effectively
  • Eligibility to work for Interac Corp. in Canada in a full-time capacity
