About the Role

Applies secure software engineering principles to design, develop, maintain, test, and evaluate software and cloud infrastructure. Collaborates cross-functionally to understand business requirements and technology direction, ensuring software and systems are designed accordingly. Incorporates state-of-the-art concepts for system functionality, scalability, resilience, and security, while also focusing on ease-of-use. Utilizes agile principles for software development, emphasizing business value, collaboration, continuous improvement, and sustainability.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes technical and procedural skills to support an assigned team's work within a specified application set or on discrete system elements.
  • Engages in design and development discussions, helping the team conceptualize desired outcomes from a software engineering perspective.
  • Contributes to the design and development of user interfaces using TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks.
  • Assists with feature and element estimation in terms of technical input, resources, time, and anticipated outcomes.
  • Develops and implements unit and systems testing for integral code paths, ensuring adherence to secure coding practices.
  • Supports deployment and operation of application components on AWS or comparable cloud platforms.
  • Provides technical support, including troubleshooting and enhancement for existing and new features within application and system structures.
  • Documents processes to capture best practices, applicable methodologies, and repeatability.
  • Updates team members, manager, product owners, and other key stakeholders on status, challenges, and concerns.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 2 years' experience in a related field; or a master's degree and up to 2 years' experience; or 10 years' experience in a related field with no degree.
  • Working knowledge of TypeScript and experience contributing to UI solutions.
  • Requires strong knowledge of Java or other object-oriented backend languages to support full-stack collaboration and system integration.
  • Familiarity with AWS or another major cloud platform (Azure, GCP) and basic cloud-native concepts such as serverless functions, containers, or CI/CD pipelines.
  • Excellent Foundational skills in analytical thinking, requirements analysis, software installation and support, system and technology integration, and technical troubleshooting.
  • Foundational skills in building partnerships, challenging personal limitations, driving innovation, focusing on execution, and striving for excellence.
  • Exposure to AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude, GitHub Copilot, or similar) is a plus.
  • Must clear a pre-employment drug test (marijuana pre-employment drug test not administered for this position, but drug-free workplace policies apply).
