Responsibilities
- Read and interpret approved fabrication/shop drawings.
- Lay out assemblies according to specifications.
- Tack weld components to major structural members.
- Layout and identify AWS welding symbols prior to welding.
- Perform structural steel welding according to shop drawings and fit-up requirements.
- Maintain production pace while coordinating with fabrication team members.
- Inspect your own work for quality and resolve discrepancies as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Stop work when safety issues, drawing conflicts, or fit-up discrepancies are identified.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Structural Welder, Fabricator, or Fitter.
- Current welding certifications required.
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and blueprints.
- Strong layout skills and understanding of geometry and basic algebra.
- Proficient with measuring tools including tape measures, framing squares, protractors, lasers, and levels.
- Advanced knowledge of welding equipment and setup.
- Ability to produce high-quality welds.
- Experience using grinders, chipping hammers, needle guns, oxy-acetylene torches, propane preheat torches, temperature measuring devices, and other fabrication tools.
- Ability to safely operate overhead cranes and material handling equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
- Welding certifications required.
- Pre-employment background check required.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
