About the Role
Lead the development and execution of CBC/Radio-Canada’s collaborative strategy to reach and serve newcomers and other important communities in Canada. This role supports the Senior Director, Business and Strategic Planning, and requires a strategic thinker who can also execute at the day-to-day level.
Responsibilities
- Develop an understanding of the realities of newcomers to Canada
- Build relationships and liaise with external partners, including newcomer agencies and organizations
- Explore potential opportunities through market research, interviews, and input from partners and internal departments
- Develop and implement strategies and tactics for meaningful engagement with newcomers
- Evolve the strategy based on changing community and partner needs
- Monitor macro activities, trends, and research related to newcomers and other communities
- Ensure effective tracking of daily activities and project progress for reporting and planning
- Work closely with senior leadership in Corporate Development
- Build relationships and liaise with internal CBC and Radio-Canada senior executives
- Maintain visibility on community initiatives across CBC and Radio-Canada for alignment and shared learning
- Develop best practices for sharing across the Corporation
- Prepare and present relevant materials to executive teams and stakeholders
- Act as a representative of CBC/Radio-Canada in meetings to advance public service priorities
- Manage the operating budget
Requirements
- 5–7 years of relevant experience in strategy development, relationship management, project management, marketing, and/or public service media
- Experience working with newcomers to Canada is a strong asset
- Relevant lived experience is highly valued and considered an asset
- Full proficiency in English and French (reading, writing, and oral)
- Experience in relationship management and liaising with third parties
- Ability to translate complex information into clear, actionable plans
- Exceptional organizational, logistical, and planning skills
- Ability to organize, set agendas, manage, and lead meetings
- Highly skilled in preparing and presenting communications and meeting materials
- Ability to negotiate with and present to senior leaders
- Comfortable working with quantitative and qualitative research materials
- Comfortable working with legal documents
- Comfortable working with budgets
- Understanding of the Canadian media landscape and CBC/Radio-Canada's position
- High emotional intelligence and ability to work independently and effectively across diverse components and departments
- Candidates may be subject to skills and knowledge testing
- Background check, including a mandatory Criminal record check, may be conducted
