About the Role

We are seeking a Performance Architect to optimize our high-performance C++ ad-serving engine, focusing on fighting latency and mastering distributed systems. You will architect solutions for real-world challenges, not just implement features.

Responsibilities

• Fight Latency: Hunt for microseconds and optimize the hot path of our ad-serving engine.
• Ensure response times stay lightning-fast, even during peak traffic.
• Master the Distributed Chaos: Evolve our architecture to handle transactional scale.
• Tackle the CAP theorem in the real world.
• Tame the Data: Architect how we use NoSQL to fetch complex targeting data without breaking our latency budget.
• Set the Standard: Define C++ best practices for maintainability and performance.
• Push the hardware to its absolute limits.

Requirements

• Master C++: Understand compiler behavior, leverage modern C++, and dominate memory layouts and cache hits.
• Live in Linux: Be proficient with the terminal and tools like perf, gdb, valgrind, and strace.
• Think Distributed: Build systems that span multiple servers and understand the pitfalls of distributed locks.
• Simplify the Web: Use HTTP, JSON, and XML efficiently for high-performance logic.
• Demonstrate a portfolio, side project, or demo repo showcasing production-ready code.
