About the Role
ClearScore is seeking an accomplished Compliance Lead (Home Lending) to join their Finance, Legal and Regulatory team. This role will work directly with the Head of Risk & Compliance, supporting ClearScore’s provision of secured lending advice and the development of innovative new initiatives. The position ensures the company operates in line with applicable regulations and internal policies and procedures, and will be based in Manchester with significant influence on the culture within the Home Lending business. ClearScore approaches Compliance in a modern way, by taking a risk-based approach and being a helper rather than a hinderance.
Responsibilities
- Providing expert advice on complex Compliance topics to support the Home Lending business
- Responding to any irregularities or instances of non-compliance
- Monitoring compliance with laws, regulations and internal policies
- Keeping up to date with relevant laws and regulations
- Training employees on relevant laws and regulations
- Working closely with other departments to create a culture of compliance
- Ensuring there are robust and effective controls within the organisation
- Leading on general administrative duties (such as policy writing or process creation)
Requirements
- 4+ years Compliance experience at an FCA regulated business, with great knowledge of MCOB
- Experience in a similar environment (FinTech, mortgage lender/broker or other fast-paced environment)
- Ability to work autonomously and at pace
- Ability and desire to learn new topics and expand knowledge into additional areas of regulatory compliance
- Analytical mindset and the ability to deal with ambiguity
- Extensive experience dealing with internal teams (such as Operations, Product, Engineering or Commercial)
