About the Role

Join our cross-selling tech team to connect customers with relevant financial products beyond consumer loans. This role is crucial for the company's strategy to expand its footprint as a financing provider. You will build and run scalable services offering valuable additions like income protection insurance at the right moment in a customer's journey, rooted in modern engineering practices and a strong sense of ownership.

Responsibilities

Work in a distributed environment with Node.js and TypeScript services on Kubernetes.
Build and maintain customer-facing and internal UIs using React/TypeScript.
Conceptualize and build new functionality, improve existing systems, and optimize performance.
Integrate and maintain third-party services and external systems.
Design and implement asynchronous, event-driven communication using AWS SNS and SQS.
Implement and maintain real-time features using WebSocket technologies (e.g., socket.io) with scalable adapters like Redis.
Define and evolve inter-service contracts using Protobuf and ensure consistent validation with schema validation libraries like Zod.
Ensure secure authentication and authorization flows using OAuth, JWT, and external identity providers.
Take an active part in team decision-making processes (goals, concepts, timelines, stack).
Work closely with EM and PO to plan and develop new features.
Involvement in end-to-end development and maintenance of team products, including DevOps tasks, following a 'you build it, you run it, you own it' philosophy.

Requirements

Expert-level Node.js with TypeScript for building distributed applications.
Strong experience designing and implementing event-driven architectures and asynchronous messaging patterns.
Vast experience in frontend development with TypeScript and React, including conversion-driven B2C context.
Experience implementing secure authentication and authorization mechanisms (OAuth, JWT, external identity providers).
Hands-on experience with real-time communication technologies (e.g., WebSockets) and scalable distributed systems patterns.
Experience with AWS RDS.
Extensive experience with GitHub Actions, AWS, and containerized microservice infrastructures, ideally on AWS with Kubernetes and Terraform.
Demonstrate true end-to-end ownership by independently leading complex initiatives, making pragmatic decisions, aligning stakeholders, and ensuring high-quality execution.
Passionate about work and a great communicator with interest in cross-team/cross-functional initiatives.
Experience in owning a domain end-to-end and taking over leadership aspects regarding stakeholder management and team.
