About the Role
The Residential Aide assists with client basic needs and works with the social services team to monitor and provide appropriate support services to individual clients.
Responsibilities
- Perform regular area inspections to ensure shelter rule adherence
- Monitor sitting areas, laundry rooms, and the cafeteria for schedule and rule compliance
- Track locker locks
- Provide clients with locks, linen, and toiletries
- Remove contraband from dorms and inform clients of shelter regulations
- Store and remove client property from storage areas
- Maintain documentation in case records and computer databases like CARES
- Complete intakes and orientations for new clients regarding shelter and DHS rules
- Collect client identification and necessary intake documentation
- Assist clients with daily living skills, cleaning, laundry, and hygiene
- Provide coverage for kitchen and maintenance staff as needed
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1 year of experience working with homeless or special needs populations
- Knowledge of DHS requirements and protocols
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
