About the Role

Our Advocacy Service promotes and facilitates the participation of children and young people in decisions made about them. You will be joining a passionate and dedicated team, working as an Advocacy Practitioner to positively impact the lives of children and young people across London.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver advocacy services to children and young people looked after and leaving care, promoting and facilitating their participation in decisions made about them in accordance with organisational policy, procedure, and National Standards for the provision of children's advocacy services in partnership with social care professionals.
  • Provide a statutory service ensuring voices are heard for children and young adults aged 0-25+ years of age.
  • Ensure a high-quality outreach children's rights service to children and young people.
  • Deliver and promote a Children's Rights service based on principles.
  • Keep abreast of new policy or legislative changes through research and training.
  • Provide children and young people with relevant information about their rights and entitlements, including developing and disseminating child-friendly information.
  • Retain accurate and contemporaneous records and produce written reports.
  • Provide quarterly reports to senior management.

Requirements

  • Ability to travel regularly within and outside London.
  • Experience working with children and young people, particularly those who have been in contact with social services, care leavers, complex needs, disability, and mental health.
  • The ability to give advice and guidance is essential.
