About the Role

Assembles a variety of products, fitting, assembling, adjusting, and repairing subassemblies and major assemblies. Job complexity ranges from simple, repetitive tasks to fairly repetitive but difficult tasks depending upon product. Requires the use of a wide range of hand and power tools, both electrical and mechanical.

Responsibilities

• Review work orders or blueprints to ensure work is performed according to specifications.
• Visually or metrically inspects assembly for conformance to instructions.
• Repeats actions for all of the same product type each time assembled.
• Follows oral/written instructions to connect two or more parts of a product.
• Communicates with supervisor and other assemblers.
• Assists in other production areas as needed.
• Accurately completes daily labor card and submits at conclusion of shift.
• Follows all safety procedures.

Requirements

• Reads and accurately interprets blueprints.
• Possesses basic technical knowledge of hand and power tools and their safe operation.
• Able to position and manipulate parts and assemblies with the hands demonstrating manual dexterity.
• Able to follow directions precisely and perform repetitive tasks.
• Ability to comprehend and initiate solutions to complications as they arise.
• Machine shop work environment; dust, grease and metal shavings common.
• Requires the use of safety glasses and steel toed shoes/boots when on the shop floor.
• Must be able to work safely in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to work overtime, including weekends as requested.
