About the Role

Oversee and work closely with all Dispatch teams to coordinate and manage loads efficiently. Act as the main point of contact for drivers regarding route optimization, equipment, shipment requirements, and appointments.

Responsibilities

• Proof manifest creation and daily work/run schedules.
• Verify freight matches inbound and outbound manifests.
• Serve as the primary contact for drivers, brokers, agents, and customers for load-related issues and escalations.
• Manage the dispatch team for optimal performance, safety, and professionalism.
• Resolve conflicts effectively.
• Coordinate with Customer Service, Warehouse, and other stations for shipment scheduling and execution.
• Assign drivers, equipment, and daily routes.
• Monitor driver progress, safety, and Hours of Service (HOS).
• Track shipment lifecycle and update the Transportation Management System (TMS) and other software.
• Communicate route instructions, updates, special requirements, cut-off times, and problems to internal and external customers.
• Assist with DOT, TSA, and OSHA compliance processes and paperwork.
• Handle dispatch administration duties, including document organization, record keeping, and communication.
• Manage material and product from loading to unloading.
• Identify and flag potential issues requiring re-routing or additional support/equipment.
• Communicate with internal teams and sister terminals to ensure safe and timely freight delivery.
• Assist managers with inbound and outbound duties.
• Review and address OSD (Over, Short, and Damaged) shipments.
• Maintain live equipment inventory.
• Handle nightly outbound turnover communication.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of MS Office Programs.
• Experience with freight operating systems such as AS400, Alpha Truck, TMW, Freight Data, etc.
• Strong communication and managerial skills.
• Mandatory Equipment Handling licenses and certifications.
• Relevant experience in cartage, transportation, moving companies, customer service, logistics, linehaul, intermodal, warehouse, ground operations, or dispatching air and ocean service.
