About the Role
As a Transport First Line Manager at GXO, you will be responsible for the safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of transport operations, ensuring customer service, operational performance, and colleague engagement targets are achieved for our customer, Waitrose.
Responsibilities
- Manage and prioritise multiple operational activities simultaneously, ensuring risks are identified, controlled and escalated appropriately.
- Monitor operational performance throughout the day, taking proactive action to minimise the impact of service, compliance or resource-related tasks.
- Lead operational communications, ensuring all colleagues are informed, engaged and aligned to business priorities and performance expectations.
- Support workforce planning and resource management activities to ensure appropriate levels of operational cover is maintained.
Requirements
- Experience managing teams within a fast paced transport, logistics, distribution or home delivery operation.
- Strong understanding of workforce planning and resource allocation.
- Excellent transport knowledge of current EU and working time regulations.
- Experience managing a fleet of 3.5T vehicles.
