About the Role
UNICEF in the State of Palestine (SoP) works to uphold the rights of children to access services and protection. This role supports Communications, Advocacy and Partnerships activities, contributing to the smooth running of the Section by performing information gathering, monitoring, and administrative services. The goal is to continue engaging with the audience on crucial issues concerning children's wellbeing and rights.
Responsibilities
- Collects information and conducts interviews to draft human-interest stories, photo essays, videos, and social media posts.
- Organizes events and generates public support, assisting with communication materials for visitors and special interest groups.
- Updates content on UNICEF social media platforms in English and Arabic.
- Develops and maintains collaboration with mass media and relevant organizations.
- Liaises with contractors for communication assets, overseeing quality control and adherence to UNICEF standards.
- Monitors the dissemination of communication materials to target audiences.
- Establishes and maintains a documentation center for publications, press releases, and media materials.
- Plans and issues payments, follows up on cash advances, and manages budget documentation.
- Summarizes information on current obligations and future program/budgetary implications.
- Prepares and maintains records for monitoring communication strategy implementation.
- Scrutinizes plans of operations and follows up on requests for assistance.
- Performs specific administrative operational/control tasks for project activities.
- Performs other duties as required.
Requirements
- Completion of secondary education is required, preferably supplemented by technical or university courses related to the field of work.
- A minimum of six years of relevant administrative or clerical work experience is required.
- A bachelor’s degree from a recognized academic institution in a field relevant to the position may replace three years of related work experience.
- Fluency in English and Arabic is required.
