About the Role
The Residential Aide will provide shift coverage, with a flexible, rotating schedule including weekends, under the supervision of program leadership.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct crisis intervention to clients and prepare incident reports.
- Monitor client medication intake.
- Inform staff of prescription needs.
- Brief incoming shifts on facility and client status.
- Issue verbal and written warnings and consequences to clients.
- Communicate client concerns to treatment staff via logbook or mailbox.
- Make copies of necessary forms.
- Serve as staff escort when necessary.
- Participate in educational training to enhance job-related skills.
- Facilitate morning/evening focus groups.
- Participate in required staff meetings.
- Provide cafeteria coverage during meal times, monitor client bed area, and remove unnecessary items per funder rules.
- Coordinate and oversee morning/dispatches, petty cash, and client escorts.
- Provide escorts for clients as assigned and needed based on driver's license status and eligibility.
- Conduct hourly house/room rounds and record findings in the communications logbook.
- Keep supervisor informed of all relevant information regarding residents and the program.
- Perform other duties as requested by supervisor.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 1-year work experience in residential treatment or similar setting.
- Ability to provide crisis intervention utilizing good interpersonal skills with a high level of maturity and responsibility.
Skills
- Basic knowledge of human services.
- Driver's license preferred.
