About the Role

This course prepares science teachers for the Intermediate division (Grades 7-10), exploring curriculum units, lesson planning, teaching strategies, and assessment. It emphasizes environmental education, equity, and inclusive education principles.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, organize, and teach the graduate course.
  • Be available to students for assistance between classes.
  • Evaluate student work and provide feedback.
  • Attend pre-course planning meetings with the instructional team.
  • Attend MT All-Instructor Meetings (AIM).
  • Submit course syllabus as requested by the department.

Requirements

  • Possess a doctoral degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional experience.
  • Demonstrate currency and mastery in the course subject matter.
  • Demonstrate excellence in teaching, including online teaching as relevant.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and practice of principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Demonstrate excellence in teaching and leading teachers/teacher-candidates professional learning.
  • An Ontario Teaching certificate is an asset.

Work Type

  • 100% appointment percentage

Education Level

  • Doctoral degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional experience

Salary/Compensations

  • Minimum stipend of $9972.475 (inclusive of vacation pay) for a half credit course, effective September 1, 2026, and January 1, 2027. Salary may be prorated based on appointment percentage.
