About the Role
This course prepares science teachers for the Intermediate division (Grades 7-10), exploring curriculum units, lesson planning, teaching strategies, and assessment. It emphasizes environmental education, equity, and inclusive education principles.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, organize, and teach the graduate course.
- Be available to students for assistance between classes.
- Evaluate student work and provide feedback.
- Attend pre-course planning meetings with the instructional team.
- Attend MT All-Instructor Meetings (AIM).
- Submit course syllabus as requested by the department.
Requirements
- Possess a doctoral degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional experience.
- Demonstrate currency and mastery in the course subject matter.
- Demonstrate excellence in teaching, including online teaching as relevant.
- Demonstrate knowledge and practice of principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion.
- Demonstrate excellence in teaching and leading teachers/teacher-candidates professional learning.
- An Ontario Teaching certificate is an asset.

Salary/Compensations
- Minimum stipend of $9972.475 (inclusive of vacation pay) for a half credit course, effective September 1, 2026, and January 1, 2027. Salary may be prorated based on appointment percentage.
