About the Role
The Material Handling Associate I is responsible for stocking and delivering supplies to all hospital departments using par-level stocking and individual department requisitions. This position requires good customer service skills.
Responsibilities
- Answers telephone in a pleasant and courteous manner within three rings, identifying self and department.
- Handles telephone supply requests from calling departments in a timely and courteous manner.
- Directs calls or takes messages for the appropriate individual if unable to answer a caller's question.
- Accurately maintains par-level locations with adequate supplies, rotating stock to prevent outdates.
- Adjusts par-level quantities based on departmental needs and identifies potential outdates for alternative use or return.
- Assists hospital personnel with supply dispensing and answers questions related to ordering supplies.
- Ensures stockroom supplies are rotated using a first-in, first-out method.
- Exhibits knowledge of all supplies dispensed from the stockroom.
- Assists the Inventory Control Clerk with monthly cycle counts.
- Performs other duties as required.
Requirements
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
- Organizational skills with the ability to work within a designed time frame.
