About the Role

Columbia-Greene Community College seeks a full-time Prison Education Liaison to support the operational implementation and coordination of prison education programs. This role provides on-site academic and holistic support to registered students at partnered OCFS and DOCCS facilities, acting as a key resource for the Student Success team.

Responsibilities

  • Work with assigned partner sites to ensure stakeholder needs are addressed, reporting issues to the Director.
  • Ensure timely exchange and input of enrollment paperwork and assist students with the matriculation process.
  • Serve as the primary academic advisor for prison education students.
  • Act as the primary liaison between facilities and the College, serving as the first point of contact for onsite faculty.
  • Coordinate with the Office of Academic Affairs to identify needed classes and develop course schedules.
  • Plan events relevant to prison education programs, such as commencement ceremonies or new faculty onboarding.
  • Work closely with on-campus stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of external program operational needs.
  • Ensure academic program documentation, including course syllabi, assessments, and student evaluations, is coordinated and compiled.
  • Utilize campus systems like Banner, DegreeWorks, and OnBase for program administration.
  • Serve on applicable College committees and attend relevant SUNY and New York State meetings.
  • Implement strategies for increasing and sustaining enrollment in prison facilities.
  • Support the Office of Enrollment Management in implementing the institution’s Enrollment Management Strategy.
  • Attend enrollment-related events to support the Office of Enrollment Management.
  • Provide support to the Director in the application and coordination of grants and funding.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in an appropriate field such as higher education administration, school administration, student affairs, or business.
  • Experience in providing operational support to programs.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience, preferably in higher education or a similar field.
