About the Role
The General Manager is a true business owner for their store, responsible for leading, managing, and continuously developing all aspects of the store's business. They will create and maintain a positive, productive work environment aligned with the company's mission, consistently achieving sales, profitability, operational, and merchandising goals while developing a successful team.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the brand's retail strategies.
- Lead team by leveraging company tools, incentives & strategies to support meeting sales goals.
- Ensure that the store team communicates ALO's mission and guiding principles to guests.
- Foster an environment of growth, accountability, and inclusivity through development, performance management, training, and coaching.
- Establish internal & external pipeline through succession planning and recruitment strategy.
- Partner with Operations & Visual Manager to maximize inventory accuracy and ensure replenishment needs are met.
- Oversee and support execution of key operational and visual guidelines.
- Champion strong visual standards for the salesfloor by leveraging business performance data.
- Support a safe work environment and efficient operation.
- Develop schedules that deliver business results while maintaining labor effectively.
- Collaborate with cross-functional business partners to support organizational goals.
- Act as an ALO ambassador and create a culture that aligns with our mission.
- Demonstrate ability to navigate the organization with a balance of business need and brand culture.
- Create and implement effective communication strategies throughout the store to achieve goals and KPIs.
Requirements
- 7+ years of retail or related industry leadership experience.
- Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
- Extraordinary interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Highly motivated by driving business in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
- Business owner mindset with an entrepreneurial spirit.
- Independent work ethic, time management skills, and personal accountability.
- Aligns with and embodies ALO’s Guiding Principles.
- Requires constant movement in and around all areas of store.
- Ability to lift, push, carry or otherwise move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to lift, bend, kneel, climb, crawl and/or twist, and safely climb up/down a ladder.
- Ability to stand and move for an entire shift.
- Open availability and expected to work variable shifts including peak days and weekends.
- Expected to be able to work during the company’s Blackout period, from the week of American Thanksgiving through the end of the holiday season (the 1st week of January).

- $120,000 - $140,000/year
