About the Role
Our Family Practice Clifton Park office is looking for a full-time Medical Assistant to join their team. The hours are Monday - Friday, 8:15 am - 4:45 pm.
Responsibilities
- Document verbal conversations and information into patient records accurately, legibly, and timely.
- Maintain timely patient flow.
- Prepare patients for visits based on office/provider requirements.
- Obtain specimens (e.g., urine, blood) from patients as directed by the provider.
- Perform accurate and timely order entry into the lab system.
- Perform clinical office procedures as directed by the provider (e.g., EKG, PFT).
- Assist providers with examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatments.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Ability to use interpersonal skills to establish/maintain cooperative relationships with patients, families, members, physicians/providers, managers, co-workers, and external customers.
- Maintain strictest confidentiality and discretion.
- Knowledge of medical chart reporting/records.
Skills
- Medical Assistant Certification preferred
- Previous phlebotomy experience is preferred
- Experience with Allscripts is a plus
