About the Role
This is an exciting introductory/entry-level role into Dunmore manufacturing. The Production Assistant will assist Plant Operators in the set-up, turn-around, and operation of defined machinery in the department per specific operating instructions to achieve standard quality and productivity.
Responsibilities
- Works safely by reviewing, clarifying, and following safety rules/procedures.
- Handles materials and operates equipment with safety as the primary objective.
- Properly segregates waste (solvent, rags, razors, recyclables, etc.).
- Sweeps floors, empties film baler, and moves scrap films, cores, and skids.
- Brings safety risks to management's attention.
- Ensures quality by studying and complying with manufacturing and customer specifications.
- Fulfills ISO requirements.
- Ensures complete and accurate data.
- Inspects and packs jobs to specifications and standards.
- Verifies and records quality and yields, and production transactions.
- Utilizes the roll numbering system.
- Assists operators in meeting/exceeding standards for set-ups, clean-ups, waste, yield, and productivity.
- Exceeds standards or customer expectations when possible.
- Reduces costs through productive and effective work.
- Makes recommendations to reduce or eliminate waste.
- Stages jobs for manufacture.
- Assists operators and other associates in setting up and turnarounds.
- Ensures materials, tooling, and packing materials are available and ready to maximize productivity.
- Maintains machine inventory, checking stock material, tooling, parts, and supplies in an orderly, efficient, and cost-effective manner.
- Follows requisition procedures.
- Monitors material quality to specifications.
- Visually inspects product throughout the process.
- Fills in for rewind operators throughout a shift, as needed.
- Packs rolls as defined by customer specifications.
- Creates labels for inventory/shipping as required.
- Documents operations by noting order output and material usage.
- Documents material waste.
- Calculates basic math.
- Reads measuring rules, machine counters, and other gauges and apparatuses.
- Fills in required paperwork per department work instructions.
- Obtains Quality Assurance approval.
- Segregates and/or marks rejects.
- Records and summarizes machine process per department work instructions.
- Performs other duties as needed or required.

Salary/Compensations
- $20.00 Hour plus shift differential for hours worked
- Quarterly Bonus
