About the Role
Provide technical expertise to support the delivery and maintenance of IT Cyber Security and Network solutions at the Ginna Clean Energy Center. This role involves testing, implementing, and maintaining products and processes while resolving issues under the guidance of senior leadership.
Responsibilities
- Perform, document, and assist in planning work activities for small projects, sub-projects, or process improvements.
- Enhance, maintain, and support existing IT products and processes to meet defined service level agreements.
- Analyze requirements, design, build, and test IT software solutions for projects.
- Maintain engagement with business and IT partners.
- Assist less experienced personnel.
- Manage professional development and maintain technical knowledge.
- Identify trends and analyze issues to drive innovation and solve complex business problems.
- Provide on-call support after normal business hours.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline with 2 to 5 years of experience, or 6 to 9 years of equivalent education and work experience.
- Ability to solve problems using pre-defined procedures and guidelines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing business priorities.
- Working knowledge of Server and Workstation Operating Systems including Windows and Linux.
- Command prompt proficiency.
- Working knowledge of IP-based switching, routing, and network environments such as Cisco.
- Working knowledge of computer networking concepts, protocols, and network security methodologies.
- Working knowledge of enterprise cyber security practices.
- Working knowledge of firewall operations such as Cisco and Checkpoint.
