About the Role
Responsible for maximizing the sales of supplier brands to the trade through effective territory planning, selling, merchandising, and communication to achieve company and supplier objectives.
Responsibilities
- Strategize and preplan to achieve sales and merchandising objectives by understanding pricing and product programming information.
- Maintain accurate historical account purchase information.
- Call on accounts and cover daily routes with an efficient routing pattern.
- Analyze account base by visiting each account and identifying opportunities.
- Complete necessary surveys and ensure national account compliance.
- Prepare and deliver professional sales presentations, balancing company priorities and customer needs.
- Sell display ideas, new products, cold box, shelf, well and back bar placements and resets, drink and wine lists, and promotions.
- Understand and work with management on inventory levels, noting current stock and out-of-stock situations.
- Alert management to possible demand fluctuations.
- Achieve distribution, volume, and activity goals for supplier brands.
- Ensure maximum brand visibility within accounts by maintaining account standards.
- Use effective point-of-sale materials.
- Maintain product levels in accounts by taking inventory and restocking shelves (where legally permissible).
- Obtain payments for company by collecting and delivering checks or other remittance (where legally permissible).
- Educate account staff on priority brands through training seminars.
- Support account openings by developing opening orders in collaboration with Field Sales Manager.
- Manage customer account receivables by processing credits and returns and communicating on aged receivables.
- Service accounts by delivering products in extenuating circumstances.
- Handle customer issues and complaints, referring them to management as appropriate.
- Maintain professional relationships with suppliers by participating in work with sales calls and sales blitzes.
- Stay informed of company/supplier activities by attending weekly sales meetings.
- Complete all necessary training programs, including attending, participating, and passing required tests.
- Maintain professional and industry knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing publications, and networking.
- Maintain customer confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to hold a Solicitor’s Permit required.
- A minimum of two years in sales or industry-related experience required.
- Must be a results-oriented professional with excellent verbal/written communication skills, diplomacy, discretion, and strong customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask, work independently and/or within a team, pay attention to detail, and meet deadlines.
- Proficient PC skills using MS Office and other various computer systems including presentation software.
- Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and climb or balance.
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Regularly exposed to normal business office environment.
- Ability to share workspace, travel by car or train, dress in proper business attire, attend evening meetings, and meet deadlines.
- Often required to be in the market and may require exposure to inclement weather.

Salary/Compensations
- Commission-based structure with a weekly draw paid against commissions per week.
- Eligible for sales incentives and contests.
- Additional General Expense paid weekly.
- Territory generates approximately $65,000- $70,000 in annual commissions.
