About the Role

Coordinate complex patient journeys across adult and paediatric services, influencing patient outcomes beyond the bedside. This role requires clinical expertise, leadership skills, and professional judgment to drive safe, effective, and well-coordinated care.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, coordinate and review patient care and discharge planning across adult and paediatric services, starting from admission
  • Act as a key liaison between patients, families, clinicians and third‑party payers to support safe, effective and timely care
  • Complete utilisation reviews and obtain authorisation for treatment and ongoing care
  • Contribute to multidisciplinary discussions and coordinated care and discharge decisions
  • Promote patient advocacy, effective resource use and high standards of documentation and communication

Requirements

  • Registered with the NMC as an Adult Nurse, with substantial post‑registration experience and demonstrable exposure to paediatric care.
  • Extensive inpatient bedside nursing experience across both adult and paediatric services is essential.
  • Strong background in inpatient nursing or significant experience within the healthcare insurance sector in a clinical or case management role.
  • Proven expertise in utilisation review and managing complex discharge planning pathways.
  • Senior-level clinical experience, typically at Band 6 or above (or equivalent), with demonstrable clinical leadership, service coordination, team supervision and/or management responsibilities.
  • Proven ability to lead complex clinical decision-making, influence multidisciplinary teams and coordinate care across multiple stakeholders.
