About the Role

The Category & Shopper Manager – Shopper Science Lab (SSL) plays a pivotal role in driving category growth across Europe by leveraging Haleon’s Shopper Science Lab. This role involves understanding shopper, consumer, and HCP behavior, translating insights into actionable solutions, and leading customer engagement through immersive SSL environments to influence decision-making and deliver commercial impact. You will act as a bridge between global strategy and local execution for category strategies across European markets.

Responsibilities

  • Support the integration of shopper, customer, and retailer insights into category plans and customer initiatives.
  • Partner with OU and market teams to translate category and brand growth plans into retailer-relevant recommendations.
  • Support the localization and implementation of category strategies across European markets.
  • Contribute to the development of core category growth tools and materials.
  • Support Perfect Shelf and execution excellence programmes through application of Shopper Science Lab capabilities.
  • Deliver customer engagement and retailer collaboration sessions within the Shopper Science Lab.
  • Support the design and execution of immersive SSL experiences that bring category strategies and insights to life.
  • Work with market teams to adapt SSL outputs and recommendations to local customer needs.
  • Share best practices and case studies across markets to drive consistency and learning.
  • Support capability-building activities that increase understanding and adoption of SSL tools and approaches.
  • Apply Shopper Science Lab tools and methodologies to generate shopper and customer insights.
  • Support shopper research projects that inform innovation, portfolio, and execution decisions.
  • Analyze shopper behavior and translate findings into clear recommendations for category and commercial teams.
  • Support range, assortment, layout, and portfolio optimization programmes.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance tools, capabilities, and ways of working.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Significant experience in category management, shopper insights, commercial, sales or marketing roles, ideally within FMCG, consumer healthcare or retail environments.
  • Experience using shopper and customer insights to support commercial recommendations and decision making.
  • Experience working in a matrixed environment.
  • Delivers high-quality outputs with strong attention to detail.
  • Builds effective relationships across functions and markets.
  • Uses data and insight to support recommendations and decisions.
  • Prioritizes workload effectively and manages multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Communicates clearly and confidently with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Demonstrates curiosity and a continuous learning mindset.
  • Embraces change and adapts effectively in a fast-paced environment.
