About the Role
This varied role offers exposure to a diverse portfolio of UK subsidiaries of major French and international groups, covering tax audit, corporation tax compliance and advisory projects. Working closely with managers, audit teams and clients, the successful candidate will benefit from a clear career progression path towards Assistant Tax Manager and Tax Manager.
Responsibilities
- Review current and deferred tax positions and financial statement disclosures.
- Identify potential tax risks and material misstatements.
- Prepare draft tax audit reports.
- Liaise with audit teams and clients to resolve issues and present findings at audit closing meetings.
- Prepare corporation tax computations, returns and tax accounting schedules using Alphatax.
- Prepare tax disclosures for financial statements.
- Advise clients on tax positions and payment obligations.
- Prepare iXBRL filings.
- Manage HMRC correspondence.
- Provide ad hoc tax advice.
- Review work prepared by junior team members.
- Deliver training sessions when required.
- Provide regular coaching and constructive feedback.
- Contribute to a range of tax advisory projects as they arise.
Requirements
- 2-4 years relevant experience in corporation tax, preferably gained in an accountancy practice.
- Strong technical knowledge in UK corporation tax and tax accounting, including most aspects of deferred tax issues.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Experience with tax software.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Good IT skills, including the proficient use of both Microsoft Excel and Word.
