About the Role

This role focuses on telephone-based distribution support and sales development for UK investment funds and Model Portfolio Services (MPS), covering key intermediary channels. The primary objective is to generate qualified opportunities, increase adoption and retention, support adviser due diligence, and drive net sales within defined regions.

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage a segmented telephone panel across IFAs, restricted advisers, wealth managers, adviser networks, and platform distribution relationships.
  • Promote the firm’s investment funds and MPS range, aligning with each channel’s advice model, investment approach, target client base, and implementation route.
  • Undertake project work to support business development, process improvements, and strategic initiatives.
  • Develop direct relationships with IFAs and paraplanners, identify research opportunities, and support inclusion on recommended lists or panel discussions.
  • Map decision-makers for restricted advisers and networks, understand panel structures, and generate qualified opportunities.
  • Position funds and MPS within wealth manager and discretionary firm model range reviews, portfolio construction conversations, and due diligence processes.
  • Support platform campaigns to enhance visibility, research engagement, literature usage, and commercial momentum for priority funds or managed solutions.
  • Explain proposition features, investment process, portfolio construction, risk positioning, pricing, and service model clearly during adviser due diligence.
  • Maintain high standards of regulatory and conduct compliance, ensuring communications are fair, clear, not misleading, and consistent with Consumer Duty expectations.
  • Utilize CRM systems to track contact coverage, opportunity stages, channel penetration, campaign follow-up, and sales influence by proposition and segment.
  • Meet agreed activity, engagement, opportunity, and net sales targets while maintaining call quality and positive client outcomes.

Requirements

  • Experience in telephone sales, business development, or internal sales within UK investments, asset management, platforms, pensions, or wealth management.
  • Strong understanding of investment funds, multi-asset solutions, and Model Portfolio Services, including how advisers assess suitability and value.
  • Ability to communicate technical investment concepts clearly to intermediary audiences with varying levels of expertise.
  • Good knowledge of UK regulatory expectations relevant to distribution, including FCA financial promotions standards and Consumer Duty principles.
  • Commercially minded, organised, and resilient, with strong objection-handling, listening, and relationship-building skills.
  • Comfortable working with CRM systems, sales MI, and campaign tracking to manage performance and prioritisation.
